For this new Emerald Downs event, a new website was required. They wanted an "urban" looking website that contained an online registration form, a bracketing system, and a custom content management system.
Stage 1
Our first goal was to get the main site design together and built to announce the upcoming event and to display a countdown to open registration.
Stage 2
In stage 2, we focused on creating an online team registration and linking the registration to the bracketing system. Upon completion of the form and bracketing system, registration would open, and the countdown would be adjusted to a countdown to the registration deadline.
Stage 3
Once the registration deadline was reached, it was time to generate the bracket system, allow access to registered teams and update the countdown for the event date.
As part of Stage 1 and Stage 2 processes, the Emerald Downs stakeholders and I worked together to sketch out requirements and layout to create an intuitive user experience.
Taking the newly created EmD3on3 logo, I pulled together a color palette and designed graphic elements to propel user pathing.
The EmD3on3 event was a huge success. The online sign-up rate was high, thanks to the clear and concise steps through the process. The real-time bracketing system was simple to use during the live tournament and ran smoothly.
“We decided to embark on a very ambitious event in 2013 and needed a web designer and facilitator. Our experience with Seattle Internet Solutions and specifically Raphaela Hunter, made our choice an easy one. Raphaela’s professionalism in every phase of the project, from conceptualization to the event day execution, helped streamline our efforts. She had an intuitive ability to anticipate our needs throughout each step of planning. We consider our collaboration with her a key element in our event’s enormous success.”
