ACME contacted me about creating a mobile site. They wanted a streamlined version of their current website, focusing on providing the top tier of information requested by their customers.
In my initial consultations with ACME Bowl, we established the goals for this project.
We analyzed the ACME Bowl website statistics to ascertain the best sections for the site structure and to conform best to user habits.
With the basic site structure determined, the team met to begin conceptualization.
Once we narrowed down the ideas and the site flow, I created a simple storyboard for review with the stakeholders.
I then moved forward with a simple, low-fidelity paper prototype for basic user testing.
Using Adobe Photoshop, I designed visual mock-ups of three different distinct areas/functionality of the mobile site.
Once the mock-ups were approved, I hand-coded with JQueryMobile, CSS3, and HTML5 to build the interface and basic functionality. I met with my development team to review the final build-out of the mobile site. We finalized the specifics for connection to the database and to the custom CMS we developed for ACME Bowl in an earlier project.
After the release of the new mobile site, ACME happily informed me of all the positive feedback they received from users and staff.
